In 2009 the Braaictionary was written by readers, one word at a time. We're bringing that back: send us your family recipe, a word we're missing, a braai story or a hard-won tip. Everything published is curated to this site's standard — and credited to you by name.

Before Braai Day, Thursday 24 September: send the tip your fire actually uses — the wood, the hand-test habit, the side that feeds whoever arrives. The editor reads every one. Published pieces carry your real name. You can also put one sentence on The Braai so the communal fire is fed before the day. Planning the food? The menu pack and the hand test are the starting point.
How it works: you submit, the editor reads every single one, and the best get rewritten into the house style and published with your name on them. Photos? Submit the story first — we'll reply by email so you can attach the pictures.
