Basket v2 (from 31 August 2026): 1 kg boerewors, 1 kg pork loin chops, 1 kg chicken braai pack; charcoal, firelighters and matches; rolls, potato salad, sweetcorn and chakalaka; braai salt, tomato sauce and foil; and a 2-litre cooldrink. One number for the family basket, a second with a 6-pack of lager.

What is in the basket

A family Saturday fire is more than meat — so from this week the basket prices the whole thing: the meat, the fire, the table and the cooldrink. No ranking of shops, no “best price in SA” table. Citations exist so you can see where a figure came from. They are not a storefront.
